In the late 80s, Rogue Trader caught my imagination in a way no other science fiction of the time could. It was dark, it was weird and it was full of possibilities. A friend and I got into Warhammer 40k in a big way- he bought some rampaging Orks and I bought an RTB01 space marine box set. After a brief period of reflection, I painted them red… badly. This was my first ever miniatures project, my first blood angles army – now sadly sitting in a landfill somewhere.
I’d grown out of ‘playing with little plastic toys’, or so I thought. The truth is I’d always secretly missed the creativity and artistic expression which goes in to modelling and painting miniatures. It can be a refreshing break from office life. Nearly 15 years later, I wondered in to a G.W. store for some reason and was talked in to buying the Macrage box set and so it began again…
I decided to start a blog to chart my progress as I try to take my painting and modelling skills to the next level, to show off my work here and (hopefully) get some constructive feedback. Hope you like what you see.
I’m Al, this is my workshop, welcome adept…
